Often when entrepreneurs consider what they need to succeed in business, we often overlook the singularly most important thing: Their mindset. With all of the various things you can work on to build a stronger mind to be in the industry, you likely want one to start with right now. Cyclical Mindset for business friends.
What is a Cyclical Mindset For Business?
As the graphic shows below, a cyclical mindset is a process that isn’t a straight shot to the top. It’s the dips of hardship and rising back up despite it. Circling back all the way to the beginning to fix something and then repeating what you know works. It’s the understanding that success isn’t linear, but instead, a scientist mindset to see what works for your business and the willingness to circle back and fix something.
As a business owner, it is crucial to our business that we are able to weather the storms and come right back up ready for round 2. It’s also vital to approach our business a bit like a science experiment.
The top skills that you can work on right now to strengthen your cyclical mindset for business:
- Resilience
- Adaptability
- Tenacity
Resilience
When I think of resilience, I think of weathering the storms. Of holding to a positive attitude despite the inevitable negative outcomes as you continue to test and grow. It’s so important to keep your mindset in check and have healthy expectations while you continue to act as the scientist in your business.
Adaptability
Throughout your journey of entrepreneurship the ability to adapt to your circumstances, keep a positive mindset and pivot will separate you from the rest. I often see entrepreneurs trying to beat the same drum over and over again…even if it’s not working.
So the ability to say – this isn’t working for my business how it might work for someone else, and adapt to what DOES work for your business model is so important.
Tenacity
Sheer determination. The “I will not quit” attitude. To put it simply – someone who will not quit until they reach their goal. I always like to tell people this: Most people grade their business by how far they’ve jumped in a day, a week, or even a month. Then they stop. But the tenacious entrepreneur knows that even if they’ve only improved by 1% every day, in just 365 days of not quitting – their business will be 365% better.
As you continue forward in your business, remember…your mindset is and should always be a top priority. These are a few vital pieces to having a cyclical mindset for business and really shooting past what other people simply aren’t willing to work on.
